The Texas Election Code defines a “watcher” as a person appointed under Chapter 33 of the Texas Election Code, to “observe the conduct of an election on behalf of a candidate, political party, or the proponents or opponents of a measure”.
Bexar County Election Integrity trains watchers so candidates can appoint them to various sites and/or counting stations within the county. Our poll watchers are trained to be quiet observers while documenting all that is witnessed.
Bexar County poll watchers must be a registered voter and eligible to vote.
If you’re concerned about our elections and wish to help, we would love the opportunity to train you as a poll watcher for the upcoming election.
